Nuclear complements intermittent technologies like wind and solar and reduce the risks created by the uncertainties of energy storage technologies. The Government’s Civil Nuclear Roadmap, published yesterday, sets out the case for nuclear and presents the Government’s long-term civil nuclear strategy to help deliver our ambition for up to 24GW of nuclear power by 2050.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government has announced a historic expansion in domestic supply of the medical workforce by funding an additional 1,500 medical school places in England available to domestic students from 2018-19. In addition, from 2019-20 English universities will not be limited in the number of international students they can recruit on a full fee paying basis.</p><p> </p><p>For medical school intake targets, the only distinction that is made is between home or European Union students and those from outside the EU. As such, the additional 1,500 medical school places the Government is funding will be available to students from across the United Kingdom and all European Economic Area countries subject to the usual residency requirements.</p> more like this

answer text <p>“Local spending bodies” is not a term that the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) uses. For the purposes of this answer we are therefore providing information on:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><ol start="1" type="1"><li><strong>BIS partner organisations that have an office in Birmingham</strong>.</li></ol><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>These bodies spend money voted to BIS and have the BIS Permanent Secretary as their ultimate accounting officer. The following such organisations have offices in Birmingham:</p><p> </p><p>· ACAS</p><p> </p><p>· Insolvency Service</p><p> </p><p>· Skills Funding Agency</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><ol start="2" type="1"><li><strong>The categories of body set out in PQ UIN 7817</strong>.</li></ol><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>These bodies are part of the wider delivery chain and spend money voted to BIS that is allocated to these bodies through BIS Partner Organisations rather than from BIS directly.
