Ultimately, matters relating to the expulsion of a peer is for the House of Lords rather than the Government.

Nobody is under any obligation to address convicted criminals for serious offences by their title.

Whilst Peers may voluntarily stop using their peerage titles, there is currently no formal mechanism for revoking their titles, which would require bespoke primary legislation. answer text
Existing NHS policy is clear that access to NHS treatment is based on clinical need. Clinicians are expected to consider trauma, such as domestic abuse. The individual circumstances of children and young people seeking help will form part of local clinical judgement.

Alongside this the Government is focused on addressing the pressures caused by the pandemic as a priority and we are working with the National Health Service to tackle long waiting lists and bear down on waiting times. At the Spending Review (SR) we invested £1 billion to kickstart elective recovery throughout 2021-22, incentivising providers to address backlogs and tackle long waiting lists.
more like this

Regulation of discharges of untreated sewage to the water environment is the responsibility of the Environment Agency (EA) and not Ofwat.

In March 2017, Thames Water was ordered to pay fines of almost £20 million following a series of significant pollution incidents on the River Thames and its tributaries in 2012 to 2014. The fine, for six separate cases, was a record as the highest ever set by the courts in a prosecution brought by the EA. More recently, in July 2019, Thames Water was ordered to pay costs and fines of about £700,000 for pollution from Maidenhead Sewage Treatment Works.

more like this

answer text
Regulation (EC) No 1102/2008 will be repealed with effect from 1 January 2018 by EU Regulation 2017/852.

This regulation will be directly applicable in the UK, and as an EU member, we will also make secondary legislation to set enforcement rules for the new requirements later this year. This will enable the UK to meet its global commitment to reducing the harmful impact of mercury as a signatory of the UN’s Minamata Convention on mercury.

The Government will discuss with the EU and Member States how best to continue cooperation in the field of chemicals regulation in the best interests of both the UK and the EU. It would not be appropriate to pre-judge the outcome of the negotiations at this stage.
more like this
