answer text
We recognise that Myanmar's gas extraction sector is a vital source of revenue for the military. We are unaware of any British companies providing services to this sector. Since the military coup in Myanmar, the UK has led international efforts to reduce the military's access to revenue, arms and equipment. To prevent the military from profiting off natural resource extraction, we have imposed extensive sanctions on the regime and its associated businesses. We have also strengthened our Overseas Business Risk Guidance, to warn companies of the risks associated with Myanmar's extractive sector. We will continue to do all we can to cut the military's access to revenue, through both sanctions and non-sanctions measures.
more like this

answer text
This Government strongly supports gender equality and condemns discrimination on the grounds of gender. That is why we are committed to review non-disclosure agreements and any evidence that is coming forward about how they are being used. The Government will also be publishing guidance on employee dress codes, so that employers and employees are aware of how these may constitute discrimination or lead to harassment in the workplace.

We are also committed to increasing diversity on FTSE boards and in senior executive roles. There is a higher percentage of women on company boards than ever before – more than doubling in the last six years. However, we need to maintain momentum and that is why we are supporting the work of the business led, Hampton-Alexander Review and their voluntary targets for 33% FTSE 350 board directors and senior executives to be women by 2020.
more like this

answer text

As of 18 January 2016, there were 458 members of HM Armed Forces serving in Afghanistan under Operation TORAL. Routine movements and minor changes in requirements mean that this number will vary over time. The UK's commitment to Operation TORAL nevertheless remains in line with the figure of around 450 personnel announced by the Defence Secretary in his statement of 27 October 2015 ( Ref: UK Military Support to Afghanistan:Written statement - HCWS273).

Out of the 458 personnel, 33 are female. There are 10 UK female officers and 23 other ranks. These personnel undertake a wide range of roles including: medical, force protection, mentors, police, logistics, communications, human resources and administration, and engineering and technical support.

more like this
