answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/06/2020 answer text <p>Applications for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) opened on Monday 20 April. By midnight on 24 May, 1m employers had submitted claims to HMRC representing 8.4m furloughed employments and £15bn.</p><p> </p><p>This is a new scheme and HMRC are currently working through the analysis they will be able to provide based on the data available. This is a self-reported field within the NHS human resources and payroll system, the electronic staff record.</p><p> </p><p>The following table shows the number of nationals of European Union member states other than the United Kingdom working in the NHS in the last 36 months.</p><p> </p><p>This data is published twice a year and the next set will be published in December 2016 showing the position at September 2016.</p><p> </p><p>NHS Digital also publishes turnover data. The latest data published in September shows that the number of nationals of EU member states other than the UK who started working between June 2015 and June 2016 was 15,474 and the number who left employment in the NHS in England was 8,056.
