This is an unprecedented level of demand for our services, however, we have every confidence that the Department can meet this challenge.</p><p> </p><p>Our priority as a Department remains that we ensure people get their benefit payments and that we can continue to support those who need our support the most.</p><p> </p><p>We are continuing to redeploy 10,000 staff from other parts of DWP to frontline services and are also recruiting additional staff to assist with the processing of claims, including support from other government departments.</p><p /><p>We have also introduced new processes to ease pressure on waiting times for identity verification over the phone and other processes, and people making new claims for Universal Credit now no longer need to call the Department as part of the process.</p> answering member constituency Mid Sussex answering member printed Mims Davies question first answered 27/04/2020 16:43:47 answering member 4513 label Biography information for Mims Davies

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/05/2016 answer text <p>Defra does not set a budget for food served in the canteen at its Smith Square offices (Nobel House). Catering services are provided by a private company under contract to Defra which leases facilities in Nobel House and provides food to staff without subsidy. Spending on food is determined by the contractor based on sales receipts from Defra staff.</p><p>Defra has worked with its current supplier to align the existing contract with the requirements of the balanced scorecard.</p><p>The amount of food sourced from British producers for Nobel House was 56% (Jan-Mar 2016). This figure includes non-indigenous products; including drinks such as tea and coffee. It marks, overall, an improvement of 4% over the previous quarter.
