answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/06/2023 answer text <p>Last November the Secretary of State wrote to all providers of social housing, including those in Newcastle, following the tragic death of Awaab Ishak. His letter set out his expectation that all landlords treat complaints about damp and mould seriously, act swiftly to rectify them, and be prepared to respond to a request from the Regulator of Social Housing on the extent of damp and mould issues. The Secretary of State also wrote to all local authorities setting out that non-decent homes are completely unacceptable, and that landlords must take action to resolve poor housing conditions in their area.</p><p>To ensure that landlords respond quickly when homes are dangerous, the Government has also introduced 'Awaab's Law' as an amendment to the Social Housing Regulation Bill, which will require landlords to fix reported health hazards within specified timeframes.</p> answering member constituency Bishop Auckland answering member printed Dehenna Davison question first answered 20/06/2023 15:59:39 answering member 4737 label Biography information for Dehenna Davison

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/11/2018 answer text <p>Whilst the government is clear that free movement will end as we leave the EU, we are aware that continued access to international talent and the ability for UK talent to tour are key concerns for the cultural and creative sectors. As set out in the White Paper on our future relationship with the EU, the UK will make a sovereign choice to seek reciprocal mobility arrangements with the EU in a defined number of areas, for example to allow business professionals to move to provide services, or tourists to continue to travel visa-free.
