answer text
When a person is seeking to use the ‘Request a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) basic check’ service online, they must first prove their identity via the GOV.UK One Login system. Once a user has successfully done so, GOV.UK One Login provides relevant data to DBS to confirm that the user is who they say they are. This data includes:

full name

date of birth

all addresses declared by the user, the dates they lived at each address, and the Unique Property Reference Number(s)

email address

phone number (if provided)

the level of identity confidence the user has reached

an encrypted security key

Where a user uses a passport to verify their identity:

passport number, ICAO issuer code, and passport expiry date

Where a user uses a driving licence to verify their identity:

driving licence number, expiry date, issue number and the organisation that issued the drivers licence

Each of the above fields is currently held in GOV.UK One Login for 6 months.

Only the ‘Request a DBS basic check’ service has access to the user’s data. answer text
Supply teachers perform a valuable role and make an important contribution to the smooth running of schools by filling posts on a temporary basis and covering teacher absences. A key principle behind the government’s education reforms is to give headteachers the freedom to use their professional judgement to decide the structure of their school's workforce. In deploying staff, school leaders should be satisfied that the person has the appropriate skills, expertise and experience to carry out the work.

The department recognises that pupils taking exams this year will have experienced disruption to their education caused by COVID-19. Together with Ofqual, we consulted on and have confirmed a range of adaptations to GCSE and A/AS level exams, which take this disruption into account.

GCSE, AS and A level pupils have been provided with advance information, published by exam boards on 7 February, on the focus of their exams in most subjects to support revision. Pupils will also benefit from other changes to exams, including choices of topic or content and exam aids during the exam for some subjects at GCSE. Additionally, Ofqual has confirmed that 2022 will be a transition year for grading. Grades will be based around a mid-point between 2021 and pre-pandemic grades for GCSEs, A/S and A levels.

North facing slip roads here would introduce additional lane changing manoeuvres by vehicles on the short busy length of the M6 between Junctions 31A and 32. This represents an unacceptable risk to the road safety performance of the motorway.
more like this

answer text
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and our Embassy in Bahrain continue to closely monitor Mohammed Ramadan and Hussein Ali Mousa's cases. The UK is firmly opposed to the death penalty, and it is our longstanding policy to oppose capital sentences in all circumstances. We continue to raise concerns about these cases both in public and in private at the most senior levels. The Ombudsman and the Special Investigations Unit are continuing with investigations into complaints of torture in these cases. We encourage a swift, transparent conclusion to the investigations.
more like this

answer text
Many of the findings of the report by the Fair Admissions Campaign and British Humanist Association echo those reported by the Chief Schools Adjudicator in her Annual Report for the 2013/14 school year.

Admission authorities for all state-funded schools, including schools with a religious designation, are required to comply with the mandatory provisions of the School Admissions Code and other admissions law.

Where an objection is made to the Schools Adjudicator, if the arrangements are found to be unfair or fail to comply with the Code, the admission authority must make changes to ensure their arrangements are compliant. Where an admission authority fails to implement decisions of the adjudicator, the Secretary of State may direct the admission authority to do so.

We continue to keep the Code under review, and, where we consider any changes are necessary to make the admissions system work more effectively for parents, these will be subject to a full public consultation.
