answer text
The Critical Minerals Strategy committed to collate UK geoscientific data and identify areas of geological potential for critical mineral extraction. The Department for Business and Trade commissioned the British Geological Survey to undertake the study, “Potential for Critical Raw Material Prospectivity in the UK”, delivered by the Critical Minerals Intelligence Centre (CMIC) and was published in 2023. It is a preliminary assessment of geological factors only, and its findings do not mean prospective areas identified will necessarily be targeted for exploration and mining. Mineral planning policy is also a devolved matter.

Areas of potential geological prospectivity for critical minerals were identified in both Scotland and Wales. Regarding the geological prospectivity for lithium, the report identified two areas in Scotland and no areas in Wales.
more like this

The use of chemical weapons is prohibited by the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and is a clear threat to international peace and security. We will continue to uphold and protect the Convention's ban on the use of chemical weapons. The Government is aware of reports that chemical weapons were used in northern Iraq. We have no direct evidence to support these claims. We continue to monitor reports of use of riot control agents in Northern Iraq.
more like this

We continue to review the effectiveness of the programme in order to maximise the COVID-19 booster vaccination campaign.

There are more clinics in England delivering COVID-19 vaccines, including pharmacies, general practitioner practices and other community sites. There are hundreds of walk-in sites offering booster vaccines without an appointment. In addition, COVID-19 booster vaccines have been delivered or scheduled in nine out of ten care homes in England.

Initiatives to promote the programme have included bespoke social media communications and the ‘Boost your immunity this winter’ launched in mid-October, encouraging all those eligible to take up the booster vaccine when offered. answer text
Cosmetic dental tattoos can be applied to crowns during manufacture if mutually agreed by dentist and patient. Crowns are dental appliances and the addition of a tattoo does not alter the usual patient protections that apply to the commission and manufacture of such appliances. Either the dentist or, in defined circumstances, the technician who created an appliance is professionally responsible for its safety and quality. Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EC sets out the requirements that apply to those commissioning and/or manufacturing appliances. Compliance with this is a legal requirement and failure to do so is a criminal offence.
more like this
