answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/03/2020 answer text <p>The Government published “The UK’s Points-Based System: Policy Statement” on 19 February.</p><p>Employers not currently approved by the Home Office to sponsor migrants should consider applying now if they think they will want to sponsor skilled migrants, including from the EU, from early 2021.</p><p>In delivering on its manifesto commitments for a new points-based system, the Government has considered relevant views, evidence, and analysis. Tier 2 is a route to settlement and so no Veterinary Surgeons who are in the UK on this route would be required to leave as long as they meet the settlement requirements. The change – which will be implemented through amended Immigration Rules coming into effect on 6 July – will ensure that all doctors and all nurses needed in the UK will be able to be recruited to work here without being counted against the cap.
