answer text <p>The Government considered a range of evidence, including data from a number of consumer insight studies, in the development of its policy on the labelling of food and feed derived from precision bred organisms.</p><p> </p><p>All food containing genetically modified organisms will continue to be labelled as such and information on authorised food and feed derived from precision bred organisms, will be published on a public register.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 on genetically modified food and feed requires that food derived from genetically modified (GM) sources must be labelled, regardless of the presence of detectable GM material in the final product or of the quantity of intentionally used GM ingredients.</p><p> </p><p>Businesses must take all reasonable precautions and exercise due diligence to ensure that the food they sell meets the requirements of the GM food and feed Regulation. The Food Standards Agency provides guidance on the Regulation on its website and local authorities are responsible for ensuring compliance with the labelling requirements set out in this Regulation.</p> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p><del class="ministerial">This issue has yet to be discussed in detail within the framework of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations. The Government will consider its negotiation position based on a range of factors including the environmental impact and public health benefit of such anti-microbial treatments that can reduce potential for foodborne illness.</del></p><p> </p><p> </p><p><ins class="ministerial">The existing EU rules which require GM-derived food to be labelled are not expected to be discussed or reviewed as part of the negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.</ins></p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this
