answer text <p>DCMS is fully committed to ensuring diversity in all public appointments. In the first two quarters of 2016/17, 50% of new DCMS appointments went to women and 18% to BAME candidates.</p><p> </p><p>The DCMS public appointments team are always working to find ways to attract a wider pool of talent and to meet - and exceed - diversity targets. The team works closely with the Cabinet Office to identify potential barriers and has put in place a number of actions to overcome them - including bespoke advertising plans for each appointment campaign, targeting under-represented groups, and outreach events such as one aimed at women being equally represented on public sector boards.</p> more like this
