answer text
The Department for Culture Media and Sport has recently received the advice of Historic England on a number of these applications and protected four historic lamps by listing them at Grade II. These cases were assessed as part of a pilot group and Historic England, the Government's statutory advisor on heritage matters, is currently undertaking a series of wider listing assessments relating to gas lamps in Westminster. When this additional advice is received by the Department, each case will be carefully considered. Historic England is then responsible for notifying interested parties of the Minister's decision.
more like this

answer text
HMRC is responsible for the collection and publication of data on imports and exports of goods to and from the UK. HMRC releases this information monthly, as a National Statistic called the Overseas Trade in Goods Statistics (OTS), which is available via their dedicated website. From this website, it is possible to build your own data tables based upon bespoke search criteria.

Classification codes (according to the Harmonised System) are available to assist you in accessing published trade statistics data in the UK Global Tariff. Goods moving to and from the UK are identified by an eight-digit commodity code. These are publicly available from the UK Trade Tariff on the gov.uk website.

HMRC are unable to provide the requested information due to the way E-scooters are classified. E-scooters do not have their own specific commodity code. Instead, they are classified within more general codes, dependent on a few factors. For example, commodity code 8711601000 covers bicycles, tricycles, and quadricycles, with pedal assistance, with an auxiliary electric motor, and with a continuous rated power not exceeding 250 watts. However, there are other commodity codes that could also be applicable to E-scooters.

More information about any specific commodity code within the UK Trade Tariff can be accessed via UK import and export statistics on the UK trade information website.

To demonstrate this, a review of Regional Air Connectivity was recently announced to ensure all nations and regions of the UK have the domestic transport connections local communities rely on – including regional airports. Her Majesty’s Government plays no part in, and through regulations is legally prevented from intervening in, the airport slot allocation process.

more like this

answer text
We recognise the concerns that the recycling industry has around these measures by China. Officials from Defra, the Environment Agency (EA) and the Department of International Trade (DIT) have been working with industry representatives to understand the expected impact of these measures, provide comment to China’s Environment Ministry and develop our response to the situation. The UK supported by a number of other EU Member States raised China’s failure to observe the notification requirements under the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) with the European Commission. We also asked clarification on the scope of the proposed ban to help businesses prepare for the changes.

It is for the Chinese authorities to set their own standards to protect the environment and public health and we must respect their decisions. In the longer term, new markets for UK recycling may need to be found, whether abroad or in the UK. We see this as an opportunity to develop internal market capacity.
