answer text <p>The decision to start the sale process for the student loan book (set out in Written Statement HCWS458) was based on a robust and comprehensive assessment of the market which showed that it has a good prospect of achieving value for money.</p><p>An in-depth market testing exercise suggested there was strong interest in this type of long-term, inflation-linked asset. Conditions in the equity and debt markets remain strong.</p><p>The Government will continue to monitor market conditions carefully to ensure we get a fair price and secure value for money for taxpayers.</p> more like this
