answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/10/2023 answer text <p>We are unable to provide information on revenue received by the National Health Service from commercial clinical trial activity as this data is not routinely collected by the NHS.</p><p>Growth and investment from commercial clinical trial activity is a key priority for the Government. The Government is working to improve transparency of and reduce negotiation time for the full recovery of costs between NHS sites and commercial sponsors, through the National Contract Value Review (NCVR). NCVR employs the 2022/23 national tariff, encompassing investigation and intervention tariffs, procedure tariffs, and the NHS England Market Forces Factor.</p><p>Lord O’Shaughnessy’s report of his review of commercial clinical trials in the United Kingdom, published in May 2023, recommends measures to boost commercial trial activity. By definition, universal health coverage includes financial risk protection.
