When learning outcomes are poor, lower value is placed on education and girls are more likely to drop out of school. This can lead to child marriage or child labour. We have invested in research programmes to understand how best to tackle learning poverty, including links to nutrition. The UK is also a leading donor to Education Cannot Wait. ECW supports conflict or crises-affected children - the largest group of out-of-school children facing increased risk of exploitation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/11/2018 answer text <p>​As Minister for Asia and the Pacific, I met with several Cabinet Ministers during my visit to Mongolia in July and with a delegation of Mongolian parliamentarians this month. During these meetings I highlighted the importance Mongolia plays as a democratic role model for other developing countries in Asia and beyond. The country has made significant progress since the peaceful revolution that overthrew its Soviet system almost thirty years ago. I also discussed the contribution the UK is making towards Mongolia’s economic growth, primarily through Rio Tinto’s major investment in the world-class Oyu Tolgoi mine, but also through our programmes in the environment and education sectors.
