These are the result of ongoing efforts to improve data accuracy and ensure decisions are based on robust and reliable information. The Home Office collects and publishes these data at the offence group level, for example, ‘Sexual offences’ or ‘Miscellaneous crimes against society’, broken down by police force area. More detailed information on the location of the arrest are not collected.</p><p>Data on the number of arrests are published in the ‘Police Powers and Procedures, England and Wales’ statistical bulletin.
