answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/02/2024 answer text <p>Smoking is the number one entirely preventable cause of ill-health, disability and death in this country. It is responsible for 80,000 yearly deaths in the United Kingdom, and one in four of all UK cancer deaths. It costs our country £17 billion a year, £14 billion of which through lost productivity alone. It puts huge pressure on the National Health Service and social care, costing over £3 billion a year.</p><p>The evidence is clear that there is no safe level of tobacco consumption, and all tobacco products are harmful. There is also clear evidence of toxicity from heated tobacco in laboratory studies. The aerosol generated by heated tobacco also contains carcinogens, and there will be a risk to the health of anyone using these products.</p><p>The upcoming legislation proposes to align to existing age of sale legislation, which includes any product containing tobacco, both smoked and smokeless, and intended for oral or nasal use, and cigarette papers. In the Government response to the consultation Creating a smokefree generation and tackling youth vaping, published on 29 January 2024, 63.8% of respondents agreed that all tobacco products should be included in the new age of sale restrictions.</p><p>The report commissioned by Public Health England in 2018 concluded that with a diverse and mature UK vape market which adult smokers can use to help them to quit smoking, it is currently not clear whether heated tobacco products provide any advantage as an additional potential harm reduction product.</p> answering member constituency South Northamptonshire answering member printed Andrea Leadsom grouped question UIN 13995 question first answered 22/02/2024 13:53:49 answering member 4117 label Biography information for Andrea Leadsom

The Vietnamese Ministry of Health has indicated that foreign nationals resident in Vietnam will be included within their national vaccination programme, in line with their prioritisation strategy. Vietnam is currently prioritising vaccination of frontline medical staff, essential workers, and older or medically vulnerable groups. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/02/2020 answer text <p>Department for Transport statistics show that in March 2019, 92% of buses in England outside London were enabled for smart ticketing and 72% offered contactless payment. The Department for Transport offers bus operators in England outside London an additional incentive to implement smart ticketing through the Bus Service Operators Grant. Policy on bus services in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland is a devolved matter.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Government announced in-principle support in October 2019 for the Mobile Network Operators’ (MNOs) Shared Rural Network (SRN) proposal. The proposal would share investment costs between the mobile network operators and government and increase 4G mobile coverage throughout the United Kingdom to 95% by 2025, with the biggest improvements seen in the devolved nations. It will be underpinned by a legally binding coverage commitment from each operator.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Government's in-principle support is subject to detailed negotiations. While this is not yet a done deal, the Prime Minister has made improvements to rural mobile coverage part of his first 100 days pledge. I will continue to work with the sector to make that happen.</p><p>Smart ticketing is dependent on good mobile coverage, so improvements in geographic coverage, including on major roads will facilitate the option for bus companies to provide smart ticket machines on buses in the rural areas of each nation of the UK, if they choose to do so.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>This Government is committed to improving digital connectivity overall. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/11/2015 answer text <p>The estimated cost of processing a certificate of travel is currently £382 for those over the age of 16 and £244 for those under the age of 16.</p><p>Fees for applications for certificates of travel reflect estimated processing costs. The Geneva Convention requires that Convention Travel Document fees must not exceed those for UK passports.
