These events will be subject to local authority approval. The rules on social contact outdoors will apply in these settings. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/02/2021 answer text <p>In order to be eligible for the grant funding which is available for closed businesses there are three key considerations for Local Authorities when determining the eligibility for a grant under mandatory closure schemes:</p><p> </p><ul><li>Is the business paying business rates?</li><li>Is the main service of that business required to close due to local or national restrictions?</li><li>Is the business able to self-declare that it meets all scheme conditions, including eligibility and subsidy control requirements?</li></ul><p> </p><p>Where an organisation meets all these criteria, they are considered eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed). Support includes various government-backed loans, as well as the extended furlough and self-employed support schemes. We also introduced a substantial, UK-wide cut in VAT for many tourism and hospitality activities, including admission to circuses and fairs, until the end of March.</p><p>Further to this, the Additional Restrictions Grant discretionary fund will allow Local Authorities to help businesses more broadly during this period. It supports businesses that are not covered by other grant schemes, such as the Local Restrictions Support Grant, or where additional funding is needed.</p><p>We recognise that Covid-19 has significantly impacted the culture sector and that these are extremely difficult times for organisations such as travelling fairgrounds. The Government has recently extended the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme until the end of March 2021, with employees receiving 80% of their current salary for hours not worked. To support the self-employed, the percentage of trading profits covered by the forthcoming Self Employment Income Support Scheme grant from November to January have been further increased to 80 per cent, up to £7,500.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has extended the temporary reduced VAT rate for hospitality and tourism to 31 March 2021.
