NHS England has communicated its commitment to implementation in all relevant National Health Service trusts and is currently working with neurosurgical centres to ensure that 5-ALA is available for use in accordance with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines from July 2018.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Where someone is maintained free of charge while undergoing medical or other treatment as an in-patient in a hospital or similar institution funded by the NHS, payment of (but not entitlement to) Personal Independence Payment (PIP) ceases after 28 days. This is on the basis that the NHS is responsible for the entirety of the person’s disability-related extra costs and to pay PIP in addition would be a duplication of public funds intended for the same purpose. Once someone is discharged from hospital, payment of PIP recommences from the date of discharge.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Under the terms of their contract with NHS England, general practitioners (GPs) are required to provide certain medical reports or complete certain forms for which a medical report is required by other legislation, for example, the Social Security Administration Act, free of charge to their registered patients.</p><p> </p><p>There are no plans currently to prevent GPs from charging for signing a patient’s letter, other than those which they are required to provide free of charge.</p> more like this
