The Government wishes to see the rules governing the movement of horses, including the TPA, continue through any implementation period; and expects this to happen.<\/p>

Our priority is for the movement of horses then to continue, following the UK's withdrawal and the implementation period, with minimal delay and bureaucracy, whilst safeguarding animal welfare, biosecurity and disease control. We are working with the sectors concerned, in order to deliver this and where change is necessary, to ensure it is in the UK\u2019s best interests.<\/p>

Separately, the British Horseracing Authority, on behalf of the British thoroughbred racing and breeding industry, responded to the Migration Advisory Committee's call for evidence on the impact of EEA workers in the UK labour market.<\/p>

In addition, in April 2017, the Government implemented reforms to the Horserace Betting Levy which made it a requirement for offshore operators to pay the Levy for the first time. The Horserace Betting Levy Board estimates that the reformed Levy will generate c.£85m in 2017/18 - representing an increase of c.£20m compared to receipts from bookmakers in 2016/17 under the old system.<\/p>"}

Our Embassy in Tel Aviv provided consular assistance to Mr Hawwash when he was denied entry to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian territories on 7 April. We will continue press for clarification from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the implications of the law. The UK is strongly opposed to the Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions Movement against Israel. But we believe the best way to combat this movement is through discussion rather than legislation. To date Public Health England (PHE) has received 113 responses to its sexual health commissioning survey. The total number of responses received is broken down as follows: 103 local authorities (from a total of 152), seven National Health Service regions (from a total of 13) and three clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) (from a total of 229).<\/p>

PHE is actively exploring options to ensure that CCGs are appropriately represented; the options under consideration are reissuing of the survey, surveying a representative sample, or direct interview with CCGs.<\/p>

The decision to offer a dual fuel discount to customers who take a gas and electricity supply from one supplier is a commercial matter for the companies concerned. The discount reflects savings made by the company by combining administrative costs of providing the two separate supplies. Dual fuel discounts typically range from £10 to £25 per year. It would not be appropriate for Government to intervene by requiring suppliers to reduce electricity prices for just one specific segment of customers.<\/p>"}
