On the 2 July my Department laid a written statement on a wide-ranging package of further financial support to ensure local government can continue to fulfil its essential role in the national response to COVID-19. This includes a commitment to support the sector through an apportionment of irrecoverable business rates losses between central and local government, to be agreed at the Spending Review.
