Artificial Intelligence will never replace the role of our colleagues in supporting customers throughout their journey. We are using Artificial Intelligence to undertake administrative or repeatable tasks freeing up our staff to spend more time with their claimants.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>As part of our approach, and in-line with the Prime Minister\u2019s Foundation Model Taskforce, DWP has created a Generative Artificial Intelligence Lighthouse Programme which will safely guide our innovation in emerging Artificial Intelligence technology. The role of this programme is to \u2018test and learn\u2019 in a safe and governed environment where all types of AI can be used to assist us in the delivery of our customer outcomes and department efficiencies.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>Where Artificial Intelligence is used to assist its activities in prevention and detection of fraud within UC applications, DWP always ensures appropriate safeguards are in place for the proportionate, ethical, and legal use of data with internal monitoring protocols adhered to. Through the work of departmental governance, we can always explain how the AI reaches the conclusions through the use of data that it does.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>DWP will not use AI to replace human judgement to determine or deny a payment to a claimant; a human agent always makes final decisions, safeguarding the protection of individuals. Where appropriate Equality and Data Protection Impact Assessments have been carried out.<\/p><p> <\/p><p><a href=\"https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-for-work-pensions/about/personal-information-charter\" target=\"_blank\">DWP's Personal Information Charter<\/a> explains how and why we use personal information and citizen\u2019s rights and responsibilities.<\/p>"}

The development of the CPES is overseen by the Cancer Patient Experience Advisory Group (CPEAG), which has a wide ranging membership including clinicians, cancer charities, experts in survey methodologies, research bodies, health service commissioners and NHS England staff.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The survey questionnaire is reviewed by CPEAG each year to ensure that it captures the best information and as part of the process for the next survey, NHS England is engaging with a range of stakeholders to look at how it can improve and amend the survey appropriately.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>In the meantime, NHS England has added a new question to the 2014 survey questionnaire to identify patients who have been diagnosed with cancer more than once because the evidence suggests that there may be a difference in the experience of those patients.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The results of the 2014 survey will be published later this year.<\/p>"}
