The Department funds respiratory research through the National Institute for Health and care Research (NIHR). It is not usual practice for the NIHR to ring-fence a proportion of its budget for research into particular topics or conditions. The NIHR welcomes funding applications for research into any aspect of human health, including into respiratory conditions. These applications are subject to peer review and judged in open competition, with awards being made on the basis of the importance of the topic to patients and health and care services, value for money and scientific quality. The Online Safety Bill will require social media companies to put in place appropriate content moderation systems to comply with their new statutory duties. At risk patients are targeted by the Public Health England and the NHS England and NHS Improvement marketing campaign, \u2018Help Us Help You\u2019, which includes television, radio and social advertising supported by public relations, digital search and partnership activity. Communications this year include messages about the wider range of flu vaccines now available, which offer better protection.<\/p> Those eligible for flu vaccination can get the vaccine from their general practitioner or in a scheme introduced in 2015/16, through local pharmacies, thus widening patient access.<\/p> We will be also be publishing a vaccination strategy focused on improving vaccine uptake rates across the life course.<\/p> As part of its assurance process NHS England and NHS Improvement work through their regional teams and with clinical commissioning groups to ensure that those practices with lowest uptake are contacted and action is taken to increase vaccination rates.<\/p>"}
