DFID Burma\u2019s funding for education through religious organisations has the key policy objective of increasing the number and proportion of children who complete a quality basic education. The programme is delivered through the Myanmar Education Consortium which works with a range of Non-Governmental Organisations, including faith-based organisations, provided that i) the education services are available to members of different religious communities, ii) the project activities supported do not aim to proselytize or explicitly promote a particular religion, iii) where possible promote inter-communal peace and conflict resolution, and iv) do not engage in any action that could promote inter-communal tensions.<\/p>

Network Rail is carrying out the work to improve the Walsall to Rugeley Trent Valley Line. They have advised that £27.3m has been incurred so far on the project to electrify the line. Work carried out to date has included the structures clearance work, detailed design of the electrification system, and the contract award to ABC Electrification, the main contractor.<\/p>

The route clearance work is substantially complete and has gone well. This has involved 5 bridges being reconstructed, and 11 track lowerings being undertaken. The remaining significant civil engineering work is to lift the headroom in Park St Tunnel, Walsall, which is scheduled to be carried out from October 2015 to May 2016.<\/p>
