General practitioners are responsible for ensuring their own clinical knowledge remains up-to-date and for identifying learning needs as part of their continuing professional development. This activity should include taking account of new research and developments in guidance, such as that produced by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), to ensure that they can continue to provide high quality care to all patients. HMCTS currently has a contract with a number of Approved Enforcement Agencies (AEAs) for the execution of criminal warrants and orders and this includes the warrants of control. The table below is the information recorded for the current contract which commenced in December 2009. This data is restricted to warrants of control relating to criminal cases only. These warrants are normally issued when all other sanctions have failed and AEAs are only paid on successful execution.
