Entitlement to Attendance Allowance is not based on the diagnosis of a specific health condition, but is awarded to people based on the care, or supervision, needs arising from their severe disability. Special rules arrangements apply to Attendance Allowance claimants who are not expected to live longer than another six months, and mean that payment is made immediately rather the claimant having to satisfy the usual six month qualifying period. There is no specification of which health conditions should be processed under the special rules arrangements, and those suffering from significant brain injuries and not expected to live longer than another six months would be included under them. Claims for Attendance Allowance under the special rules arrangements should be supported by a relevant healthcare professional, usually on form DS1500.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4105", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Justin Tomlinson"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "North Swindon"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Justin Tomlinson"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2015-07-20", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2015-07-20T17:15:33.34Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "29"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Work and Pensions"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Work and Pensions"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2015-07-16", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Attendance Allowance"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if he will extend the special rules for attendance allowance to include those suffering from significant brain injuries.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4243", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Dan Jarvis"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Barnsley Central"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Dan Jarvis"} ], "uin" : "7696"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/390473", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Transport"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/390473/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

The EU drivers’ hours rules (Regulation (EC) 561/2006) requires Member States to lay down their own rules for vehicles used for the carriage of passengers on regular routes where the route covered does not exceed 50km. In GB, the domestic drivers' hours rules (contained in the Transport Act 1968) meet this requirement.

The UK also funds projects of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime to deliver technical assistance to regional states to help establish a legal framework for the prosecution of pirates. These highly visible roles ensure that the UK is at the forefront of international efforts.

The nuclear agreement reached by the E3+3 and Iran on 14 July is a potentially historic achievement. Iran has accepted far reaching limits on its nuclear activities including its stockpiles of enriched uranium, centrifuge numbers, and nuclear research and development.
