As outlined in the Digital Communications Infrastructure Strategy, the government has commissioned an independent review of the use of IPv6 in the UK. We are in the final stages of this review and the outcomes will inform future policy making in this area. Licensing authorities have powers under the Licensing Act 2003 to restrict the hours in which alcohol is sold, if it is appropriate for the promotion of the licensing objectives. Decisions are based on individual consideration of each premises application, as appropriate for the promotion of the licensing objectives and in line with the licensing authority’s statement of licensing policy.

Early morning alcohol restriction orders (EMRO) allow a licensing authority to restrict the sale of alcohol between midnight and 6am. EMROs are designed to address recurring problems such as high levels of alcohol-related crime and disorder in specific areas at specific times; serious public nuisance; and other instances of alcohol-related anti-social behaviour which is not directly attributable to specific premises. Licensing authorities may decide to implement a Cumulative Impact Policy (CIP) where an exceptional number of licensed premises concentrated in one area have a cumulative impact on the promotion of the licensing objectives in that area. The CIP creates a rebuttable presumption that applications for premises licences which are likely to add to the existing cumulative impact will normally be refused or subject to certain limitations. The Government keeps these powers under review, but there are currently no plans to create additional new powers for licensing authorities.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/1528", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Sir Mike Penning"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Hemel Hempstead"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Mike Penning"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2015-09-16", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2015-09-16T12:21:41.92Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Home Office"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Home Office"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2015-09-11", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Off-licences"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what powers local authorities currently have to restrict the hours during which off-licences can sell alcohol; and whether the Government has plans to devolve further such powers to local authorities", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/1521", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Mrs Sharon Hodgson"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Washington and Sunderland West"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Mrs Sharon Hodgson"} ], "uin" : "10056"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/418405", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Culture, Media and Sport"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/418405/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "
Security of connected devices, the system they operate in and data is very important to consider in the Internet of Things. That is why security will be a theme throughout the government funded Internet of Things programme (IoTUK). We have included £10m for additional research to design in security, privacy and trust in IoT-related systems. In his report on the Internet of Things the Government Chief Scientist advised that security should be considered at the beginning and throughout the life cycle of Internet of Things applications. We have therefore made security a specific part of the competition scope for the large-scale demonstrator competitions.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/1580", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Lord Vaizey of Didcot"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Wantage"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Mr Edward Vaizey"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2015-09-16", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2015-09-16T14:07:30.813Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "10"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Culture, Media and Sport"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Culture, Media and Sport"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2015-09-11", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Internet"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what assessment he has made of the security of devices connected to the Internet of Things.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4124", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Chi Onwurah"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Newcastle upon Tyne Central"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Chi Onwurah"} ], "uin" : "10009"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/418406", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Culture, Media and Sport"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/418406/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "
