No assessment has been made. NHS England are leading the centralised procurement of the up to 100 mental health ambulances as part of the £150 million capital investment detailed on Monday 23 January at a total cost of £7 million. This total cost is based on a national co-designed specification and benchmark averages.

The £150 million capital investment is also already supporting over 25 schemes which will provide new or improved health-based places of safety and Section 136 suites. Further allocations from the funding are currently being considered by NHS England.

Staffing requirements, training needs, and management arrangements for mental health urgent and emergency care will vary depending on the services and facilities provided in local areas. We are supporting the mental health workforce including through the ambition to deliver an additional 27,000 mental health staff by the end of 2023/24.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4492", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Maria Caulfield"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Lewes"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Maria Caulfield"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2023-01-30", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "groupedQuestionUIN" : [{"_value" : "131342"} , {"_value" : "131343"} , {"_value" : "131344"} ], "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2023-01-30T09:20:30.28Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "17"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Health and Social Care"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Health and Social Care"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2023-01-24", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Mental Health Services"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to the Written Statement of 23 January on Mental Health Update, HCWS512, whether existing staff will be expected to cover multiple spaces; and what the arrangements for management of spaces will be.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4573", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Dr Rosena Allin-Khan"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Tooting"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Dr Rosena Allin-Khan"} ], "uin" : "131345"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1436755", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department of Health and Social Care"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1436755/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

Given the critical importance of ensuring that all children and young people continue to learn during the national lockdown, the Department has updated the expectations for schools and colleges to clarify and strengthen what is expected during this period and drawing on our evolving understanding of best practice in remote education.

With most pupils now being taught remotely and schools having made huge progress in developing their remote education provision, it is right that we increase the expectations on what pupils receive. Schools should follow the remote education expectations set out in the actions for schools during the COVID-19 outbreak: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/actions-for-schools-during-the-coronavirus-outbreak/guidance-for-full-opening-schools#res. Pupils will be set between 3 and 5 hours per day of remote education depending on their age, with daily check-ins on their engagement, and involving the effective use of digital education platforms.
