a white paper following our Review of the Gambling Act 2005<\/a>. The paper introduces a range of proportionate measures to tackle practices and products which can drive harm and ensure that people who are at risk of gambling harm and addiction are protected. These include new player protection checks, a stake limit for online slots games, improvements to consumer redress and a statutory levy on operators to fund research, education and treatment.<\/p>We will work with the Gambling Commission and other stakeholders to bring these measures into force at the earliest possible opportunity, and where further consultations are necessary, our aim is to publish them as quickly as possible.<\/p>"}

The Government operates a range of schemes that aim to increase the supply of low-deposit mortgages for credit-worthy households, including first-time buyers, and stimulate economic growth. This includes the Mortgage Guarantee Scheme, which is open until the end of 2023. The Government also helps first-time buyers to save for a deposit through the Lifetime ISA and Help to Buy: ISA.<\/p>

To strengthen the security of the UK border, the Government is introducing an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme for those passengers visiting the UK or transiting through the UK who do not currently need a visa for short stays and do not have any other immigration status prior to travelling. This is similar in nature to the US \u2018ESTA\u2019 and the EU\u2019s ETIAS which will also be shortly introduced.<\/p>
As is currently the case, individuals arriving in the UK, including those crossing the land border into Northern Ireland, will need to continue to enter in line with the UK\u2019s immigration framework, including the requirement to obtain an ETA when it is introduced. However, currently, the UK will not operate routine immigration controls on journeys from within the Common Travel Area, with no immigration controls whatsoever on the land border.<\/p>
<\/p>
The Government remains committed to working with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the ETA requirement is communicated effectively to help mitigate against any risk of it being seen as a barrier to cross-border tourism on the island of Ireland.<\/p>"}

This includes bringing down A&E wait times significantly over the next year, and down towards pre-pandemic levels within two years.<\/p>
This plan will deliver 5,000 more staffed, permanent beds this year compared to 2022/23 plans, alongside 800 new ambulances, backed by £1 billion of dedicated funding.<\/p>
The plan also sets out making greater use of virtual wards, with an extra 3,000 virtual ward beds, to provide over 10,000 in total by this autumn.<\/p>
Same Day Emergency Care services will also be in place across every hospital with a major emergency department. This is alongside expanding and better joining up health and care outside hospital, including by scaling urgent community response, frailty and falls services across the whole country, helping to reduce attendances at A&E.<\/p>"}
