This year DFID Nigeria has provided £20 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross who provide life-saving assistance to people affected by conflicts across Nigeria, including refugees from Cameroon, as well as those affected by the conflict in the north east and by inter-communal violence. Vaping products are defined as nicotine inhaling products in the European Union Tobacco Products Directive 2014/40/EU (TPD). The TPD is implemented into United Kingdom domestic law and, after the UK leaves the EU this legislation will remain in force, subject to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. The scope of these amendments is limited to ensuring that tobacco control policy and legislation continue to function effectively after EU exit.<\/p>

The Department has committed to reviewing the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations (2016), and a range of tobacco legislation by 2021. The banks have also completed large technology migrations as part of the changes to their internal processes<\/p> <\/p> By insulating these core banking services in a separate legal entity, ring-fencing will support continuity of provision of vital services to the economy if there are shocks originating elsewhere in the group and the global financial system.
