The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills supports lipreading, British Sign Language (BSL) and managing hearing loss provision in England through the Adult Education Budget (AEB). Colleges and training providers have the freedom and flexibility to determine how they use their AEB, working with Local Enterprise Partnerships and local commissioners to determine the appropriate distribution of funding to best meet the needs of their local learners and businesses, this includes both lip reading and BSL qualifications where there is a local need for these.<\/p>
<\/p>
It is not Public Health England\u2019s role to investigate the availability of lip reading and managing hearing loss classes. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is leading a review of the market for BSL and communication support for people who are deaf, deafblind or have a hearing loss. DWP is currently analysing the feedback received from a consultation on Communications for people who are deaf or have hearing loss: market review<\/em> which ran from 4 January to 4 March.<\/p>"}

Public Health England (PHE) ran a local pilot campaign from 20 October to 16 November 2014, specifically targeting prostate cancer within Black African-Caribbean men, because of their significantly increased risk of developing prostate cancer. The campaign was delivered in partnership with Prostate Cancer UK and was designed to support their awareness raising activity.<\/p>
<\/p>
The campaign ran in six London boroughs \u2013 Hackney, Haringey, Newham, Southwark, Lambeth and Lewisham \u2013 and was delivered mainly through face to face activity, supported by posters in key outdoor locations and in salons and a programme of targeted public relations.<\/p>
<\/p>
The campaign was delivered in partnership with Prostate Cancer UK and was designed to support their awareness raising activity.<\/p>
<\/p>
PHE will shortly be re-running the national campaign on \u201cBlood in Pee\u201d. Although primarily aimed at bladder and kidney cancer, blood in the urine can also be a sign of prostate cancer.<\/p>"}
