The Cyber Accelerator programme is giving our innovative companies access to world class experts in government, academia and industry to ensure the UK is the safest place to go online and start a digital business. No estimate of the numbers of consumers who will benefit has been made, nor is one planned. This would be hard to do with accuracy.<\/p>
The NCSC Cyber Accelerator, and London Office for Rapid Cyber Advancement (LORCA) work with companies to develop products and services that will enhance the UK\u2019s cyber ecosystem, servicing the needs of national security and industry, as well as consumers.<\/p>
In the past 18 months the first two cohorts of the NCSC Cyber Accelerator have raised more than £20 million in funding, and created 19 UK jobs. The Third cohort started in October 2018. The nine companies selected to take part in LORCA\u2019s first programme started in July. The Cyber Essentials scheme is largely self sustaining. The small cost to Government is mostly made up from proportions of time from members of staff within the National Cyber Security Centre and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. This includes governance, technical oversight, policy development and contract management.<\/p>

The original start-up costs included an injection of investment from the Government's National Cyber Security Programme in 2014 of £766,000, but this does not include the staffing costs from the three departments which originally developed the scheme: GCHQ, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Cabinet Office.<\/p>

This Fund was designed to boost the cyber security training ecosystem by helping range of organisations quickly develop effective and sustainable initiatives that identify, train and place untapped talent from a range of backgrounds into cyber security roles. We set an internal ambition for the CSIIF pilot to support initiatives to get at least 100 adults into entry level cyber security roles.<\/p>
<\/p>
Through the CSIIF pilot, we supported two initiatives focusing solely on women and three focusing primarily on supporting neurodiverse candidates. Of the approximately 170 individuals who are either participating or had been identified to take part, provisional figures show 48% declared as neurodiverse, 28% women and 13% BAME. These figures are subject to change and the pilot initiatives are still ongoing. The final evaluation of the pilot in 2019 will provide a final breakdown. We do not hold a figure for the number of disabled applicants. <\/strong><\/p>"}
