As part of the government\u2019s Sporting Future strategy, Sport England\u2019s remit was extended to cover children from age 5+. Government departments including DCMS, DfE and DHSC have worked with Sport England to develop the new Active Lives: Children and Young People survey. This survey launched in schools in September 2017 and will measure in much more detail how children and young people engage in sport and physical activity, and how many are meeting the Chief Medical Officer's guidelines, both in and out of school. The Life Chances Fund (LCF) is an £80m fund to help people in society who face the most significant barriers to leading happy and productive lives. It provides top-up contributions to locally commissioned Social impact Bonds (SIBs) that aim to tackle complex social problems.<\/p>
<\/p>
All of the £80m Life Chances Fund has been awarded in principle to local commissioners, including local authorities and clinical commissioning groups. These commissioners are at various stages of designing and delivering the projects. Approximately £6,435,350 has so far been spent, leaving £73,564,650.<\/p>
<\/p>
£5m of the spend to date has been devolved directly to Greater Manchester Combined Authority, with the remainder covering programme costs including the application process and support with setting up projects.<\/p>
<\/p>
Payments for outcomes delivered by the new services are scheduled to begin in early 2019 and continue for the next six years.<\/p>"}

Tech Nation's (formerly Tech City UK) current executive team is now 75% women, and the \u201cheads of\u201d roles are 66% women.<\/p>

Meanwhile, Government is addressing gender diversity in industry by supporting the Tech Talent Charter. The Charter is a private sector initiative designed to promote diversity in the tech workforce. Signatories of the Charter pledge to implement recruitment and retention practices that will address the gender imbalance of those in tech roles.<\/p>

The UK Digital Strategy set out our commitment to enabling a more diverse digital workforce. As the digital revolution progresses, many more jobs will require digital skills and many more tech roles will be created. We cannot afford for underrepresented workers, such as women or those from BAME backgrounds, to be excluded from or unable to progress within these roles.
