The footballing authorities take financial management within their sport very seriously. The FA has introduced a club licensing system in the National League System covering the areas of legal; ownership and control; integrity; finance; and grounds and security of tenure. The Premier League and English Football League that take responsibility for these matters for clubs in their competition now require business cases and proof of funds from owners, and a range of other financial and ownership related disclosures.<\/p>

The Gambling Commission has advised me that it undertook enhanced and significant due diligence in relation to Mr Melnik\u2019s Park Lane Club casino licence application in 2014. Based on the result of those checks it was satisfied as to his suitability to be associated with the licence. The Gambling Commission is currently reviewing Silverbond\u2019s (Park Lane Casino\u2019s) licence to provide gambling in Britain.<\/p>

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is the UK's independent regulator of advertising. It recently reviewed the use of the term \u2018fibre\u2019 to describe part-fibre and full-fibre broadband and concluded in November 2017 that the term 'fibre' is unlikely to mislead consumers as currently used in the advertising of part-fibre broadband services. Permission for judicial review of this ASA's decision has been granted by the Administrative Court.<\/p>

On 23 May 2018, the ASA has also implemented a new guidance on broadband speeds advertisement stating that speed claims should now be based on the download speeds available to at least 50% of customers at peak time, and no more on 'up to' speeds available to at least 10% of customers. As the BBC\u2019s external regulator, Ofcom is responsible for ensuring the BBC reflects and represents the diversity of the UK nations and regions. The BBC must report to Ofcom annually on this matter, including on the diversity of all BBC staff employed in connection with the provision of BBC public services.<\/p>

Transparency is key and the government is clear that the BBC should be leading the way on both on- and off-screen diversity. The government expects all broadcasters, including the BBC, to publish data on all diversity characteristics - not just data they are legally obliged to disclose.<\/p>

This Parliament, the Office for Civil Society has already committed £2.7 million to the Connected Communities Innovation Fund, to support people and places across the country to thrive through the power of volunteering. We are increasing the number of people trained in Community Organising to 10,000 by 2020 and investing £4.5m in the Place Based Social Action Fund in partnership with Big Lottery Fund to support partnerships of local residents, civil society organisations, service providers and local authorities in 20 areas to come together to address local priorities through social action.
