It is reaching two-thirds of median earnings, meeting our commitment to end low hourly pay for those eligible.<\/p><p>The Government commends employers who are able to go beyond the legal minimum. However, the ability to do so varies across sector and region.<\/p><p>Unlike other voluntary rates of pay, the statutory NLW is based on the advice of the Low Pay Commission, which takes into account the impact on business and the wider economy, as well as the living standards of workers.<\/p>"}

Following the machinery of government change in February 2023, GBIF is now shared between the Department for Business and Trade, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>To date 110 businesses have received funding, with a total of £630m grant allocated and £169m so far claimed by recipients.
