Where the age of a person is uncertain and there are reasons to believe that the person is a child, that person is presumed to be a child in order to receive immediate access to assistance, support and protection. Local authorities may only conduct an age assessment where there is significant reason to doubt that the claimant is a child. This assessment must adhere to standards established within case law.<\/p><p>The Government does not hold any data on numbers of child asylum applicants refused support by local authorities.<\/p>"}
