The Equality Act 2010 covers discrimination in employment, the provision of goods, services and public functions, housing, premises, education, transport, occupational pensions, clubs and associations. The Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of a number of characteristics, including sexual orientation. Sexual orientation is defined under the Act as a person\u2019s orientation towards persons of the same sex, the opposite sex or of either sex. We have no plans to amend the Act and are not aware of any significant evidence of discrimination against people because of their asexuality.<\/p>
There are however situations in which an asexual person may already be protected by the Equality Act \u2013 for example, the Act bans discrimination based on the perception that someone has a protected characteristic (for example that they are lesbian or gay), or because they are associated with someone who has that characteristic.<\/p>"}

The gender pay gap reporting website was created to enable over 10,000 employers of 250 or more employees to comply with their legal obligation to report their gender pay gap data. The website can be found at: https://gender-pay-gap.service.gov.uk/<\/a><\/p>The total cost of creating and maintaining the website to September 2018 in line with Government Digital Service guidelines was £2,349,808. The cost reflects several stages of digital design and development from the initial discovery phase £84,000, Alpha phase £249,600 and private beta £544,733 through to public beta and maintenance £1,471,476.<\/p>"}
