We remain deeply concerned by the violent persecution of Christians and other religious minorities in Pakistan and continue to urge the Government of Pakistan to protect the human rights of all its citizens as laid down in the Pakistan Constitution and take concrete action to deliver on commitments to protect minorities.<\/p>

It is our longstanding policy to oppose the death penalty in all circumstances as a matter of principle. The Foreign Secretary also discussed Pakistan\u2019s blasphemy laws with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in November 2014.<\/p>
