I would also like to reiterate this Government\u2019s admiration for members of the Armed Forces, who served in Northern Ireland to uphold democracy and the rule of law.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>I have received a number of representations about the Hyde Park bombing in 1982, and have been copied into correspondence from the families\u2019 legal representatives to the Prime Minister. I am aware that in May 2016 my predecessor met members of the families and their legal representatives.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>Decisions on the granting of Legal Aid are made independently of Ministers by the Legal Aid Agency. I fully understand, however, the families\u2019 desire to see justice in this case.<\/p>"}

The independent Administrator of the Fund is preparing a report with data on demand, the different types of support that applicants required, and the extent to which funding helped them compete on level terms with other candidates. Applicants have been invited to complete an online survey, the results of which are being collated. The report will be completed this month, when final claims have been settled for candidates who stood in the May 2015 General Election and Local Authority elections.<\/p>"}
