The development of regulations to limit emissions from tyre and brake wear depends on the development of an internationally recognised test procedure for measuring them. This issue is being examined by the UN ECE Particle Measurement Programme (PMP), which includes DfT officials, other international governments, and the automotive industry. DfT is one of the founders of PMP and has played a leading role since its inception.<\/p>
<\/p>
To support the work of the PMP group further, DfT commissioned a 3-year research project in February 2021 aimed at understanding better the measurement techniques, material properties and control parameters of tyre and brake wear emissions from road vehicles. This project will inform policy and legislation aiming at reducing these emissions on a domestic and international level.<\/p>
<\/p>

Government works closely with the devolved administrations on supporting the rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the whole of the UK. It is the established legal process through which a coroner reports any findings which have given rise to concern that future deaths might occur unless action is taken. The PFD report is sent to a person or organisation the coroner considers has the power to take action, which they are obliged to respond to.<\/p> The Department follows this legal process and awaits the coroner\u2019s expert report before responding. The Ministry of Justice is responsible for the relevant regulations and a coroner may send a PFD report to any and all Government Departments they consider appropriate. The JCVI advises that the primary objective of the autumn booster vaccination programme is to increase immunity in those at higher risk from severe illness and offer protection against severe illness, hospitalisation and death in winter 2022/23.<\/p> <\/p> Serious outcomes are disproportionately seen in older people or those with certain underlying health conditions. The JCVI advise that eligibility for the autumn programme should be towards those most vulnerable to such outcomes. Health and social care workers are included in the autumn campaign due to the high risk of exposure to COVID-19 and transmission to the clinically vulnerable individuals they care for.
