Continued Russian bombing ruins crops and damages transport routes, hindering Ukrainian grain from getting onto world food markets. Despite this, grain exports continue through Ukrainian defiance and international support. The Black Sea Grain Initiative has been a success with over 18 million tonnes of grain exported from Ukrainian ports since August. The UK works closely with the UN and like-minded partners to ensure the continued success and stability of the initiative. Bangladesh remains a Human Rights Priority Country for the UK. As the FCDO's 2021 Human Rights and Democracy Report states, press freedom remains restricted in Bangladesh, and we continue to assess that Bangladesh's Digital Security Act has been applied in a repressive manner. Ministers regularly raise human rights issues in public and private with the Government of Bangladesh, including the importance of free media. UK funding has supported objective media coverage of conflict in communities, as well as the training and education of investigative and female journalists in Bangladesh. The UK will continue to engage with the Government of Bangladesh to address these issues, and will support efforts towards a stable, prosperous and democratic Bangladesh. British journalists are able to enter and leave Bangladesh, and the UK Government will raise any incidents of harassment or restrictions on movement with the Government.<\/p>"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4210", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon"} } , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2023-01-30", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2023-01-30T17:35:51.283Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "208"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2023-01-16", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Bangladesh: Press Freedom"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "2"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25277", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Lords"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask His Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of (1) press freedoms in Bangladesh, and (2) the extent to which British journalists may freely enter and leave that country.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/1137", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Lord Patten"} } , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Lord Patten"} ], "uin" : "HL4789"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1566188", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1566188/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "
