These branches are the last shop in the community, and many are in rural and remote communities. Community Branches are benefitting from access to the £20 million Government funded Community Branch Fund, which is providing investment into these socially important branches.<\/p><p> <\/p><p><strong> <\/strong><\/p><p> <\/p>"}

The Post Office is continuing to meet strict access criteria that see, for example, 99% of the population living within three miles of a Post Office outlet.<\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p>The Post Office is also modernising and improving its national network, with thousands of branches benefiting from investment under the Government funded Network Transformation programme. To date over 3,300 post offices have already converted, to the new Local and Main models, delivering benefits to customers such as much longer opening hours and improved branch environments. In total, these modernised branches are providing over 85,000 additional opening hours a week; ensuring customers can access Post Office services at a time convenient to them.<\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p>Additionally, where a post office is \u201cthe last shop in the community\u201d, which is the case in many rural communities, that branch is designated as a Community Branch, and is able to access and benefit from the £20 million Government funded Community Branch Fund.<\/p><p> <\/p>"}

For example, the Government has established the Centre for Public Appointments (CPA) in the Cabinet Office to ensure best practice is followed. The Small Business Survey found that SMEs led by women contributed £75 billion to the economy in 2012 alone. The Women's Business Council estimate that, by equalising the labour force participation rates of men and women, the UK could further increase GDP per capita growth by 0.5 percentage points per year, with potential gains of 10% of GDP by 2030.<\/p><p>In November last year, the Government published its action plan on women and the economy, setting out full range of action we are taking, including extending the right to request flexible working from June and introducing Shared Parental Leave in April 2015.<\/p><p>We now have the highest number of women in work and in self-employment on record, the highest ever employment rate for women, and record numbers of women-led enterprises.<\/p>"}
