If we believe a change of leadership is necessary, we will move to terminate the funding agreement to bring about a change of trust.<\/p><p>Ofsted finding one school in a multi academy trust (MAT) to be \u2018Inadequate\u2019 would not automatically lead to an inspection of others schools in a MAT but it is a factor that Ofsted can consider in determining whether these schools warrant an earlier inspection. It would also increase the Regional Schools Commissioner\u2019s risk rating of this MAT and lead to a higher level of scrutiny of governace at the board level of trust.<\/p><p> <\/p>"}

The guidance is clear on the importance of making referrals to children\u2019s social care and/or the police when a child has been harmed or is at risk of harm.<\/p><p>Ofsted has published guidance that sets out what inspectors must consider when inspecting safeguarding (<a href=\"https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/inspecting-safeguarding-in-early-years-education-and-skills-from-september-2015\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/inspecting-safeguarding-in-early-years-education-and-skills-from-september-2015<\/a>). Inspectors will always report on whether or not arrangements for safeguarding children are effective.<\/p><p>The Education and Skills Funding Agency has responsibility for considering safeguarding and child protection policies of academies and free schools through compliance with the schools\u2019 funding agreements. When the department is made aware of any safeguarding issues in academies or free schools, we work quickly to involve the right organisations, consider safeguarding and child protection policies and compliance with the funding agreement. If the case requires specific child protection actions or inspection, we will make the appropriate referrals.<\/p>"}

However, Public Health England publishes resources to support families (Change4Life), schools (Our Healthy Year) and health professionals to address childhood obesity.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The School Food Standards provide the legislative framework to ensure schools provide children with healthy food and drink options. We have recently doubled the Primary PE and Sport Premium to £320 million a year from the 2017-18 academic year. We have also established a £100 million healthy pupils capital fund to facilitate an improvement in children\u2019s physical and mental health by increasing and improving access to and use of relevant facilities, such as kitchens, dining facilities, changing rooms and sports facilities. We are also investing up to £26 million to kick-start or improve breakfast club provision in over 1,700 schools.<\/p>"}
