The use of Census categories for ethnicity is assessed each year as part of the Home Office\u2019s process of agreeing each year\u2019s Annual Data Requirement (ADR) of mandatory collections of statistical data from the police. This process includes consideration of the need, use, burden and data quality issues for each data collection. The National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) have previously advised against the transition to the new Census categories due to the significant burden that this would place on forces to change IT systems and processes.<\/p>
The ADR collections currently use the Census 2001 ethnicity framework, and there are no plans at present to move to the Census 2011 framework, which would add a separate category of \u2018Gypsy or Irish Traveller\u2019.<\/p>
The guidance given to police forces on providing data to the Home Office is based on the Census 2001 ethnicity framework. These include whether there are any pre-existing medical conditions. The APP also states that all persons who have been subjected to the discharge of a Taser should be examined by a Forensic Medical Examiner (FME) as soon as practicable. Where officers believe that a person to whom a Taser has been applied has a cardiac pacemaker, other implanted device or pre-existing medical condition, an immediate referral should be made to hospital.<\/p>

The support package provides help to each affected disabled former employee for up to 18 months from the date they left Remploy.<\/p> The PHSP includes one-to-one support from a personal case worker to identify suitable help to find work including access to advice, and a personal budget. Personal budget awards can pay for items such as training, tools and equipment. After 18 months is complete, specialist support will continue to be available, usually from the same specialist employment advisor.<\/p> Former employees have also been referred to Community Support Fund projects where, in areas affected by factory closures, local organisations support former Remploy workers to move into employment and take part in social activities.<\/p> Latest figures show that 1,506 disabled former Remploy workers are choosing to work with our personal case workers to find another job and 774 are in work. 259 disabled former Remploy employees have been supported by the Access to Work scheme since they left the factories.<\/p>"}
