We welcome the work of Human Rights Watch to highlight how Iran continues to deny Baha'is their fundamental rights in their report, "The Boot on my Neck". At the 55th Human Rights Council, we issued a statement highlighting the scale and severity of freedom of religion or belief abuses globally, including against Baha'is in Iran. We co-sponsored the Iran Human Rights Resolution at UNGA 78, which called on Iran to eliminate, in law and practice, all forms of discrimination, on the basis of religion or belief. We are committed to promoting religious freedom and will continue to work with partners, and the UK Baha'i community, to promote the rights of Baha'is in Iran.<\/p>"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4210", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon"} } , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2024-05-23", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2024-05-23T16:27:14.73Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "208"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2024-05-15", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Iran: Baha'i Faith"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "2"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25277", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Lords"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask His Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the Human Rights Watch report \"The Boot on my Neck\": Iranian Authorities' Crime of Persecution Against Baha'is in Iran, published on 1 April.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4308", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for The Lord Bishop of St Albans"} } , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "The Lord Bishop of St Albans"} ], "type" : "http://data.parliament.uk/schema/parl#WrittenParliamentaryQuestion", "uin" : "HL4707"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1718609", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1718609/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "
