The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) is helping self-employed people adversely affected by COVID-19. 2.7 million people claimed £7.8 billion of support under the first grant, and as at 20 September 2.2 million people had claimed £5.6 billion of support under the second grant.<\/p>
<\/p>
The Government has announced a package of measures in the Winter Economy Plan that will continue to protect jobs and help businesses through the uncertain months ahead. The package includes a new Job Support Scheme (JSS) and an extension to the SEISS.<\/p>
<\/p>
Under the next phase of the SEISS, eligible people will be able to claim a taxable grant covering 20% of their average monthly trading profits, paid out in a single instalment covering 3 months\u2019 worth of profits, and capped at £1,875 in total.<\/p>
<\/p>
Under the Job Support Scheme, employees must be working 33% of their usual hours. For every hour not worked by the employee, both the Government and employer will pay a third each of the usual hourly wage for that employee. The Government contribution will be capped at £697.92 a month.<\/p>
<\/p>
The Government has broadly aligned the next SEISS grant with the Government\u2019s contribution to the Job Support Scheme. The extension is not intended to provide a direct income replacement, as people will be continuing to work while claiming the grant. The Government recognises the challenging times facing the aviation industry as a result of COVID-19, and firms experiencing difficulties as a result of COVID-19 can draw upon the unprecedented package of measures announced by the Chancellor, including schemes to raise capital and flexibilities with tax bills. Firms in the aviation sector will now also be able to take advantage of the targeted package of measures to support jobs and businesses through the winter months.<\/p>

The provision of a temporary bridge is not considered to be feasible on the A63, especially in a location likely to be used by pedestrians, cyclists and disabled users, due to land constraints. It also clashes with the location of the permanent Princes Quay Bridge.<\/p>

In the short term we will work closely with Hull County Council, to increase awareness of the alternative Humber Dock Street pedestrian crossing by providing additional signage and information.<\/p>

In the medium term Highways England are investigating whether construction of the Princes Quay Bridge could begin in advance of the main A63 Castle Street improvement scheme works currently programmed for Spring 2020. In order to deliver this element early, Highways England would need the support of key stakeholders including Hull County Council in securing the land to construct the bridge and co-ordinating traffic management.<\/p>

Operation of the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme in England does not require HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) information to be disclosed to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).<\/p>
<\/p>
Local Authorities are administering the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme in England. All central government departments directly involved in the scheme (DHSC, MHCLG, DWP and HMRC) are collaborating to make sure Local Authorities have access to information necessary to administer this scheme and provide a clear view of its use.<\/p>
<\/strong><\/p> HMRC have been working closely with DWP to make use of HMRC information to support the scheme. HMRC already disclose earnings and tax credit information to DWP under the Welfare Reform Act 2012. HMRC have agreed for DWP to extend its disclosure of taxpayer information to support Local Authorities in England which are administering the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme. This will provide information on claimants to Local Authorities in a legal, secure, proportionate and efficient way to enable Local Authorities to determine who is eligible for the scheme.<\/p> <\/p> Under the Commissioners for Revenue and Customs Act 2005, HMRC have a duty of confidentiality for information they hold. HMRC may only disclose taxpayer information under a limited number of circumstances, such as where legislation provides an information sharing gateway with another department for a specific purpose.
