The UK continues to use targeted sanctions to pressure the military regime to change course: in February, we issued an 18th round of sanctions, targeting the Myanmar Security Force's access to finance, arms and equipment. Since the coup, the UK has provided more than £150 million for life-saving humanitarian assistance, and support for civil society and local communities in Myanmar. Over 50 per cent of our funding goes directly to local civil society organisations, overcoming humanitarian access restrictions to support the most vulnerable and hard to reach communities.<\/p>"}
