This Government is committed to empowering communities and these projects, which put local people in the driving seat, are an important part of a clean, secure and affordable energy system.<\/p>
To deliver this ambition, we announced a new Local Energy Programme in the Clean Growth Strategy and to date have committed £7m with a further £1m allocated for this year. This will support communities in all their forms, alongside Local Authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships, to design and develop low carbon projects locally.<\/p>
Since 2013, the UK Government has committed over £16 million to support community energy, including:<\/p>
Matthew Taylor took the recommendations made in Julie Deane\u2019s review into account when he carried his own Review of Modern Employment Practices, commissioned by my rt. hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 1st<\/sup> October 2016. Mr Taylor\u2019s review considered the implications of new forms of work, driven by digital platforms, for employee rights and responsibilities, employer freedoms and obligations, and our existing regulatory framework surrounding employment.<\/p> <\/p> The Government published its response to the review on 7 February 2018, including its Good Work Plan for taking forward the recommendations on employment policy and legislation.<\/p>"}

The Bill provides for a new legal minimum period of two weeks\u2019 leave, which will be a day one right, to enable bereaved parents to take time away from work to grieve if that is what they need. The Bill successfully completed its House of Commons stages on 11 May and was introduced to the House of Lords on 14 May.<\/p> <\/p> Parents who lose their child in circumstances such as these would still remain entitled to their full Maternity and Paternity Leave and Pay.<\/p> <\/p> The UK has one of the most generous maternity leave entitlements in the world. We believe it is able to cater for a variety of circumstances, including situations where there are birth complications or post-natal incidents.<\/p> <\/p> Government would expect employers to treat their employees with compassion and flexibility during these difficult times.<\/p>"}
