Resource Departmental Expenditure Limits for the Cabinet Office are expected to fall from £1.0bn in 2021-22 to £0.5bn in 2024-25. The primary reasoning for this reduction is the inclusion of time-limited activities in the 2021-22 financial year, in particular, the G7 Summit, held in June 2021 and the COP26 Conference, held in December 2021. These activities combined added some £0.3bn to the department\u2019s costs in 2021-22.<\/p>
In addition, the 2021-22 financial year continues to include some costs related to the Government\u2019s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Latest forecasts indicate that approximately £0.2bn will be incurred in 2021-22 primarily on public information campaigns and cross-government coordination.<\/p>
Beyond this, the 2021 Spending Review settlement includes efficiencies and cost savings identified by the department which will further reduce Resource costs over the next three years.<\/p>

The Prime Minister set up the No 10 Delivery Unit (10DU) in June last year as a new, powerful capability in the heart of government to drive forward his ambitious agenda for the country.<\/p>
<\/p>
10DU focuses on core elements of the PM's mission - levelling up, recovery and reform of public services, jobs and skills, and net zero. It works as an integral part of No10, acting as the guardian of the centre's delivery priorities and the associated tools and techniques for effective delivery. As such, it supports capacity building in government departments and takes a leading role in the delivery of the Government's agenda.<\/p>
<\/p>
The Prime Minister also holds ministers to account via Cabinet meetings and Cabinet Committees. To complement this, the Cabinet Secretary holds regular Departmental stocktakes on departmental delivery with Permanent Secretaries across government.<\/p>
