The mathematics national curriculum was reformed in 2014. It was developed by the Department with advice from subject experts, to ensure that it provided the knowledge to progress in education and employment.<\/p>

Defra recognises the significant impact underwater noise from ordnance clearance and other activities can have on vulnerable marine species. We are working closely with the Marine Management Organisation (MMO), other Government departments including the Ministry of Defence, statutory nature conservation bodies and marine industries to manage and reduce underwater noise.<\/p>
<\/p>
The underwater noise impact of using low order deflagration techniques for unexploded ordnance detonations is currently being researched by Hartley Anderson on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy<\/ins> The Government takes hate crime and discrimination of any kind very seriously. We are a tolerant and welcoming multicultural society. There is no excuse for targeting British Asian communities or anyone of any other background in this country. We have one of the strongest legal frameworks in the world to report, record and prosecute hate crime. I would encourage anyone who experiences hate crime to report it to the police.<\/p> The Government\u2019s Hate Crime Action Plan, published in October 2018, sets out a comprehensive programme of work across Government and the police. We fund hate crime reporting platforms, including True Vision, and we continue to engage with communities of all backgrounds and local leaders, including councils and the police, to make sure we are aware of any concerns communities may have and can provide targeted support.<\/p>"}

The UK strongly condemns the persecution of all minorities, including the targeting of innocent people based on their beliefs. We engage at a senior level on the mistreatment of religious and ethnic groups, including Pakistanis from the Ahmadiyya Muslim community.<\/p> I raised our deep concerns about this incident in Kusur District and the importance of protecting of the Ahmadiyya community, as equal citizens, in a letter to Pakistan's Human Rights Minister, Dr. Shireen Mazari, on Defra Group<\/del>. The MMO is an active member of the Steering Group which is helping to progress this research. Closed water trials took place in 2019 and sea trials of the technology are planned for 2020. Defra does not expect to issue formal guidance on the use of low-order deflagration techniques until this research has been completed.<\/p>"}
